The Philadelphia Eagles improved to 8-0 for the first time in franchise history on Thursday night, escaping with a 29-17 win over the lowly Houston Texans.
The Texans (1-5-1) have lost two in a row since their 13-6 victory against the jaguars in Week 5.
Jalen Hurts threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns in the 29-17 victory.
It was the typical trap game for an Eagles team that went into the Week 9 opener on a roll.
A game on the road, in a short week, against a banged up Houston Texans team spelled trouble for the Eagles, but Nick Siriani’s team was ready for the challenge.
Houston certainly gave Philly a test, especially in the first half where,
they were neck and neck with the Eagles through the first 30 minutes of the game.
Davis Mills led a brilliant opening with some help from rookie running back Dameon Pierce who had a monster game going for 139 yards on 27 carries.
Remember the sense of dread Eagles fans had when Nick Sirianni was introduced as the head coach last Jan. 29.
